Services
Pigeons
Report
Since pigeons are not afraid of people, they roost and nest readily on any structure. Because of their short legs and the shape of the foot, they can perch on any ledge as well as walk on flat surfaces. Also, debris from roosting flocks can build up, backing up gutters and drains thus causing damage to roofs and other structures. Extensive damage to air conditioning units and other roof top machinery is commonplace.
Sparrows
Report
The house sparrow is the number two urban pest bird because of its ability to nest in urban structures. They are intelligent birds who roost under eaves of houses. Gutters and drainage pipes clogged with sparrow nests can backup and cause extensive water damage. Feces buildup can lead to structural damage from the uric acid in droppings, plus the bacteria, fungal agents and parasites in the feces also pose a health risk.
Starlings
Report
Like the house sparrow, the starlings are well adapted to urban life. Starlings are very aggressive and will drive native birds out of their territory, much to the dismay of local bird watchers. They are well noted for their flocking habits. Starlings often roost in populated areas, for this reason, they rank just behind pigeons and sparrows as an urban bird pest. Large scale building of feces can lead to structural damage. Gutters and drainage pipes clogged with starling nests often backup, causing extensive water damage.

Okay. Very pricey for the service. Did not take care of problem. Again- for Me - prohibitively expensive. I appreciate the offer from the company to make it right however - to my way of thinking - that translates as more expense from Me. Tami was very pleasant and professional. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to hear them out but considering the price of a small area was so much and the area left to do is much larger, I am not hopeful.

We got off to a slow start - it took a couple trys to set up an estimate appointment but once that was accomplished, Birds Away exceeded all expectations! I had two locations where most likely sparrows were building nests under my roof eaves - one in the front of my house and one in the back. The work was to remove and clean where the nests had been and install wire mesh to prevent future nests.
While the technicians were extremely professional, curteous, friendly and hard working, the work performed in the front was excellent; however, I was not entirely satisfied with the work in the back as there was quite a bit of mud/stain that was still visible and one of the upstairs screens had suffered a bit of damage, I assume from the power washing.
The Field Rep., Tyler Stewart came to observe the work and agreed to send out a crew to try to remove more, if not all, of the stain and agreed to reimburse me for a new screen. Mission accomplished - the stain is gone! And, the agreement was that I would be reimbursed when I got a new screen; however, Tyler had both upstairs screens removed and is rescreening both screens. Wow - this goes way beyond fulfilling the obligation and most certainly exceeds my expectations!
Not only am I beyond satisfied with the work performed by Birds Away, I am extremely impressed with Tyler's excellent customer service, superior work ethics and overall outstanding service!

We used Birds Away in 2011 to help us with our swallow problem and they did a fantastic job. Given our positive experience, we chose to go with Birds Away again to help us with pigeon proofing our solar panels. Even though they were slightly more expensive than their competitors, we were willing to pay this difference in price because we felt that Birds Away was a company that we could trust.
As a result of a difference in interpretation in our solar panel pigeon-proofing contract, we were initially unhappy with the job that was performed. We spoke with Bob Van Gelder and Todd Ostrom to explain our concerns. Mr. Van Gelder was able to see our interpretation of the contract and immediately sent out a second crew to address our concerns.
In the end, we are extremely happy with the outcome of their work. I truly appreciate Bob Van Gelder's rare skill set that allows him to understand the big picture in order to solve an issue appropriately. This is probably why his company is so successful and why his customers keep coming back to him.

Let me start off by saying I NEVER WRITE YELP REVIEWS. However i must say these guys can really get down! They where right on time, very friendly, hard working, and very respectful of our property. The work we had here was not easy but instead of complaining about it they jumped right in WITH inthusiasm. I would defenitly recomend Birds Away, and will be using them again in the future. Im not sure if you can request your techs that come out but if you can Dylan, Zack, and Kevin are the ones!

Our home had pigeons nesting in it for years. It seems that once they make it their home, they will be there forever. I really didn't think it would bother me until the poop started collecting. Disgusting? yes, Is it a hazard? why yes. Birds Away cleaned up all the poop. My goodness, I didn't think it was that much but it was. They cleaned it up quite well which I am happy about.
Thanks to them for their hard work. They then put a wire mesh screen, bird repellent gel, and bird repellent spikes in the problem areas. Guess what, I have no more birds nesting in my home. I don't hear any more pigeons in my chimney, no more bird droppings on my air conditioner, no more birds and no more poop. These guys are professional and friendly.
They really cleaned up everything so nicely. Oh and did I mention they are considerate when cleaning. They made sure none of my plants in the surrounding area was affected as they covered them up. I am pleased with their service and the price is well worth the cost.

I selected this firm because they said they would use cables to affix the netting to my house, instead of stapling the net to the house, as was offered by the competition. They were also less expensive, but that was a bonus. It was a bit of a struggle to get service from this company. The sales rep/inspector came out when he said he would, but he was slow to respond to my calls, and did not follow up promptly with either my initial request or the scheduling of a crew after I selected Birds Away. Also, they had to come out three times to complete this project due to inadequate communication among the sales rep, project coordinator and field teams.
When they did complete the project, they did an excellent job. The area is fully covered by netting, and the net is cleanly installed with braided wire cables, as promised. My only complaint is that the service is not what it should be.

Pigeons be gone! Thank you to the team at Birds Away/Pigeon Away. Long story short, a pair of pigeons had nested under our HVAC unit on our deck. To say they took over and made a mess is an understatement. After researching pigeon behavior and that which comes along with the creatures, we quickly realized the cleanup and future deterrent needed to be done by professionals.
We were not prepared to deal with the bugs, disease, dirty conditions and disposal of waste ~yikes, it is toxic! Staci, the office manager, was my first point of contact. She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and empathetic to our situation. After speaking with her I knew my search was over and help was on the way. Brian was my next contact, he was slow to respond.
I had to follow up with him a couple of times. He gave me an estimate and scheduled the technicians to come to our condo. Our technicians, Mike and Robert are my heroes;- They are very nice guys that take their job seriously. Mike assessed the situation, made a plan, and they got to work. I really appreciate how respectful each of them was of our home and property.
In a couple of hours the filth was gone. It looks 1000% better; no bugs, no bird exhaust - no trace of the pigeon family. Mesh has been installed to deter the pigeons. It will take 2-3 weeks for them to realize they need to find a new home. In the meantime, we scare them away and wipe any "exhaust" up as quickly as possible. I spoke to Brian about our concern that droppings will get through the mesh.
He suggested we put cardboard on top of the A/C unit at an angle to further deter the birds and keep droppings from going down. Time will tell, but we are very optimistic we have reclaimed our deck. Do not delay, make the call today!
