Keystone Pest Control was formed in 1992 by John Pirrone and Steve Dietrich after working for other pest control companies for many years. Our philosophy was to form a company that would give personalized, effective service to both homes and businesses. Having worked in the Bay Area in pest control for many years, we felt we had a lot to offer our customers in experience and quality.
In spite of growing our business over the last twenty years, we still believe in being hands-on in every aspect of our business, managing day-to-day operations and assuring customer satisfaction is always our first priority. Being an independent small company allows us to utilize all new innovations in our industry as they become available. All of our technicians are licensed by the State of California Structural Pest Control Board and fulfill all continuing education requirements to maintain their licenses. Ongoing in-house education assures our customers receive the best service possible. Our technicians are also required to pass a Department of Justice Live Scan background check and are committed to providing the best pest control service for our customers before being hired.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. These folks are the WORST. From what I understand, they USED to be a great family-run company, which is why they were recommended to me. But be aware that as of Nov. 2021 they sold out to one of the big pest control conglomerates (Certus). They took advantage of my elderly mother, never solved her rat issue, and jilted her out of a lot of $.
They sent a different technician each time, requiring us to explain the same issue over and over again. And after that, they still never solved the problem. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

They first canceled our scheduled appointment due to a conflict. When we called them back to re-schedule it next week, they said that they don't service Mountain View area. I asked the lady to confirm and get back to me that they can't help us for sure. She said that she'll confirm and let me know. I haven't heard back from them and have now finally reached out to another Pest Control Service.

They do a great job. We unfortunately had book lice, likely brought it from cardboard boxes in Costco. Ramon was the guy to have inspect for us. He is super busy so it caused a lot of anxiety to wait a few days for our house to get treated. He was familiar with this while other pest companies were not. So we trusted him. He answered our questions and was very responsive.
He put our minds at ease- mostly mine. I lost a lot of sleep over this issue, but thankful these things don't like humans. Would trust them for future issues- fingers crossed you don't need to though.

Don't waster your time! I called last week for an appointment. They scheduled it for 8/16/21 from 11:30 - 1:30. I called at 1:30 to see if the person would arrive soon only to be told that he might arrive 2:00. I told the lady I needed to leave. She apologized and told me someone would be here today 8/17 around 8:15. Called at 9:15 and was told my appointment is now for tomorrow. I'll call someone that wants to deliver customer service and get the job done.

Update to today: TLDR: they no-showed on a hard-confirmed time arranged by phone. Long version: Handed off to my partner as I'm about done with these folks and getting unproductively frustrated. This time she called to set up an appointment to try to work around the prior problems. Scheduled to today. Again, all set up and confirmed over the phone and arranged in advance enough that we could make adjustments.
Plan is that we should receive a confirmation text a few days in advance (the same ones that were previously coming for random times and being called "confirmations" to the point where we were going to be charged for changing them), and then a text the day of narrowing the 2-hour window to 30 minutes or so. Get the mid-week text. Seems good-to-go. Arranged to have the kids away. Taped up cabinets. Plans made to have the dog away.
The window opens and no text to update time. The window starts to close, and still no text. Called and find out that "We didn't get a confirmation text back from you so you're not on the schedule." They can't get anyone here. No show. No help. We've pre-paid for this, mind you, and now running on more weeks with the pests.

We had a rodent problem at our rental property. We needed an exterminator now, and Donovan's was so responsive. Many of the big chain pest controllers want to make an appointment for a consultant, and then make you wait another week for service. Donovan's were great- we will now use them for our own homes too.

I don't write reviews, however I felt compelled to do so based on my recent poor, and extremely frustrating, experience with Donovan's. First they require that the customer sign an adhesion contract which requires 1 year of service without the ability to terminate, and if the customer chooses to terminate, they must pay for the reminder of the year, in full.
After much back and forth they agreed to 6 months with no termination penalty, however the revised agreement still had the early termination clause. Because there was no ability to make changes to the DocuSign Agreement, nor would they send me a word or PDF editable version, I had to print, make handwritten changes, scan and return. Ultimately the first appointment was scheduled, for which the technician arrived an hour and a half after the scheduled 2 hour time window, without any contact.
The technician proceeded to inform me that the office told him that he could not perform the service without first getting my CC on file, a clause I did not initial nor agree to. I then spoke with a rude office employee who reiterated the same. I informed her that I would pay once the service was completed and asked to discuss with a manager or the owner.
I was told that neither was available and I asked for a return call. No call. Technician was informed by the rude office employee to leave. Before doing so the technician informed me that he had another appointment down the street and would call me when he was done with a status. No call. Suffice it to to say, I will find another less pesky pest company.

HIghly recommend Donovan's pest control - we have had rats coming into our garage and all of the technicians have been very helpful and patient, explaining what we should do and look for, as well as suggestions on the best way to trap as well as close off all entry points. They were great about following up constantly and making sure that they could answer any of our questions, and as soon as a rat was trapped, they would immediately come and take it away. We now have the problem under control and have a scheduled maintenance plan. Wonderful customer service and I would recommend to anyone.

From start to finish Donovan's was THE BEST! I wish more companies were run as professionally as this one. We hired them because we heard critters at night and couldn't figure out where the sounds were coming from. Donovan's took care of everything including finding the "critters, " closing up entry points, placing and removing traps, and cleaning up after!
Every step of the process and appointment included a confirmation phone call, a work summary, and a follow up call for next steps. This level of communication is what impressed me the most. Every person on our job was professional, friendly, and courteous. They all wore masks and booties if needed, and stood at least 6 feet away. I'm beyond impressed and give them my highest rating!

I've completely had it with this company. After years of spending $85 per month to control rats I have a huge amount of rat damage. 1. They don't return phone calls. 2. Every month they report that there's an area where rats can enter the basement. I pay to have it fixed. The next month they report that there's a point where rats can enter the basement. 3.
I hear rats constantly but month after month the don't find any. Maybe they can kill ants and spiders but that's pretty much the limit of their capabilities. Ineffective and unresponsive is my conclusion.

We have used Donovan's Pest Control for the last 5 years. We have been so happy with their service, responsiveness, professionalism and overall attention to detail. The first issue we had was rats. Donovan's immediately came out and took care of this issue promptly and effectively. Then we had a wasp nest under the eaves of our house right by our front door. Donovan's came out right away and safely removed the wasp nest.
We had moles in our front lawn and Donovan's took care of that problem as well. Our most recent issue was with June bugs. We emailed a picture of a June bug to Donovan's. Originally we did not know what type of bug it was. Donovan's identified the June bugs for us via email, and then came out to our house the same week for a service. We have not seen a June bug since! Great pest control. Donovan's has kept fleas out of our yard for more than 3 years now. They are very good and keep fleas out of our yard with monthly maintenance spraying. Our dogs are so happy now. No itching or chewing anymore. Thanks Donovan's you're a life saver for our dogs. Thomas is very courteous always and is genuinely concerned about our pest problems. Thank you!

Do not sign a contract with this company! They do not do the work that is necessary to catch mice. I told their service techs on two occasions that the mice are under the house, there are burrows under there. They don't want to go there. One guy says, "Yeah I don't smell any, you sure it isn't a squirrel?" When I told him I heard a mouse in the wall and then saw a mouse in the attic, he says, "Well, all the traps are empty, so everything is good." Then why do I still hear scratching in the walls at night! Go with a different company!

I called another company who told me they would just come out and treat without looking which seemed odd. Donovan's was the opposite. Abdel came out to look at the ant situation, and advise on the best course of action. I am looking forward to being able to go outside without ants crawling all over me.

We had ants after the heavy rains. Donnovan's team come out several times to treat both inside & outside our home. They were extremely busy but still found time to come within a day & treat the areas. It took a few visits & treatments to get them all! After the 3rd visit, our ant problem is under control. We are now on a quarterly maintenance plan. We would recommend them without hesitation!

The staff at Donovan's are great. I have been with them for over 10 years. Whenever there is a problem they come out and take care of it. Recently we had mice sightings in the kitchen, not only did they set traps, they also searched to see where the mice where getting in from. Then they sealed it. When a mouse is caught in the trap they come out and remove it. Thanks again for an outstanding job well done.

This review is specifically for Delaney. We had a small insect nest in our shed and wanted an inspection from DPC. Delaney looked at the pics and immediately identified it to be an empty Mud dauber nest. He explained how common they were and how they caused no harm. He also suggested how to get rid of them easily. While some other PCs refused to comment, he gave us good, free advice instantly!

They're very professional when you talk to them in person, but they didn't do the job, and they're hard to get a hold of. I had some rats in my crawl space. They came out and performed exclusion work, to keep the rats out, and set traps. The traps caught ZERO rats, and the rats are still there. We've been attempting to contact them to see if they are planning to come back out and take care of the rats, but so far we haven't gotten them to return our calls.

I was previously with Terminix Pest Control. They were awful! The pest inspector came to my house to treat for ants. He came in for exactly one minute and sprayed pesticides directly on the counter! I had monthly service with Terminix and noticed that they usually were just at the house for a couple of minutes. They were always in a rush and did not take care of my ant problems.
I cancelled my service with Terminix and checked out Donovan's. I was very lucky that Kevin Smith was assigned to my account. Kevin is knowledgeable, competent, honest, and listens to my concerns. He takes the time to do an excellent and thorough job. Donovan's is very lucky to have such an outstanding representative of the company. Promote Kevin! He is awesome!
