I was a tenant in a home I rented and the landlord used Brussell's services (2007). Our landlord paid for said services but I was the point of contact since I'd be the one to let them on the property. Several years later (2012) I received a bill via email for those services but had long moved out of that property. I emailed their billing department with the details and got no response so assumed they corrected the situation. It's now 2019 and I received a bill with over a $1000 in late fees attached.
In short, It's been a nightmare rectifying this situation and someone in their billing told me they attempted to call me but got no response. His attempt was calling me and not leaving a message, but never tried to call or email to reach me. He only responded after I reached out again to ask why it's been over a week and I've gotten no response from anyone on their team. They are unprofessional and disorganized.

Brussell treated my property in July 2018 and did a follow up visit but did not apply any treatment. I have been calling repeatedly to come and do the 2nd treatment but no manager or technician call me back. Maybe it was because i paid with cash thinking they are good at what they do. Now I have more bugs than I started with. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! BAD TREATMENT!

I have been with Brussell's for over 5 years. I began my service with Brussell's after moving into my newly renovated home that I quickly learned had a rodent infestation. After a few treatments, the rodents had moved out permanently! My treatment consists of both exterior and interior treatments. The evidence of such great treatment, is that there is consistency evidence of rodents eating the bait on the outside of the home, but never on the inside of the home.
If you choose Brussell's for exterminating services, definitely ask for Jennifer! Jennifer is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and quite frankly, she keeps it real! You will not be disappointed with Jennifer as your technician!

We had an ongoing mouse issue in one of my rental units for over a year. After three other local exterminators and hundreds of dollars, the problem still persisted. The tenants were on the verge of moving out but after just one visit from Jennifer Mitchum of Brussell Pest Control, the tenants have not seen a mouse since! Jennifer's attention to detail and thoroughness throughout the entire building was amazing. I have never seen someone take their job more seriously. Horrible and can not adequately eradicate rodents! We have used Brussell's now for more than five (5) years and we still have a rodent problem in our DC Rental property. Brussell's is not reliable, they cut corners, do not follow up (except for the monthly billing), you can't talk to the Owner and it is the same issue almost every month. What a waste of money and time! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

After reading the reviews I was pretty shocked. My experience with them was nothing short of amazing. We had a baddddddd roach problem for several years. It was to a point of being ashamed to have guests. However, we were never able to afford extermination costs. After being referred to Brussell, we negotiated a reasonable price. This was about 2 years ago and we've been roach-free ever since! Maybe roach outbreaks is just their specialty. But based solely off my experience, I would certainly recommend them.

Mistakenly the worst company within I have dealt with in my life, They don't communicate within the company. I had them do service in my house, the problem with them the is the communication with each other, they come when they want to, unscheduled, I sent them back and told them I would call for service when I wanted service, that is when the problem started, , They emailed me a bill, I called and talked to the receptionist, she looked in the system and said I see were no service has been done, so I will get with billing and take care of it well the next day they were taking money out of my account (Bank) I didn't ok them to keep my account number of file, I called again and they put the money back in my account that was two weeks ago, that charge was $79.00. and some change, now on Saturday they are in my account again this time for $302.00 and some change I didn't call this time I went to the bank this time, I have not talked to them in two weeks and they have not been to my house for any service now it is looked at as flaud and now the bank will take care of it.

Please do not use this service. These people are very unorganized and do not communicate so here is my last experience w them. First they make u sign a seasonal contract which is bogus. Then they will have service people come to your house without letting U know. They came to my house and did a so-called service without my knowledge while I was out of town.
The payment system is out of date and I have to give them your credit card number over the phone which they will have on file and can use it at any given time. Don't do it. They charged me 106.00 while I was away and claim they did a service which was only my front yard of a townhome. They don't confirm visits and they will use your credit card w/o your knowledge.
Do not believe anything they say. I called the manager and she say she would refund me but never did. Eventually I put a dispute in w my bank and they refund my money. Now that they have my credit card on file. I ask them to deactivate my account and will receive a new card from my bank. Don't trust them and please get a second opinion. I went with another company. I didn't want to give them this score. They are very bad

No stars if you will. I had my property treated. Relying on the technician to advise what was needed- he stated a spot treatment. I didn't feel confident but he was the expert right?. All of this had taken place in Oct. lets just say I had to shed out additional money because the "tech" didn't cure the problem. I was then told by the service manager that I rejected to have full service- I opted not to discuss by phone.
Upon arriving the story was a bit different. Over the phone she also quoted a price of$1300. After seeing the work that needed to be done she said that the price would be reduced since I already paid $475 in Oct. she walked my property and and calculated a fee of $25 times my linear feet and my price ended up at $1300 with a warranty for 5 years (at first charging me a fee, but later waived the fee for the warranty) My thoughts are if your technician did not handle the job properly and I still have an issue then charging me what you said I was to pay initially for full service still didn't make sense to me.
I called to later discuss so I could feel confident and did not receive a call back. I never negotiate prices because I expect great service. Having to fill my walls with foam creating multiple holes cost me. It cost me even more having to revisit a problem that was to be resolved by the technician. Grant it all will tell you there are no guarantees but I would seriously suggest doing research on companies before paying for service. Termites are serious. I suggest look around before committing

Absolutely ridiculous. I don't know if this is just some dude trying to pass himself off as a legit company. But I've been having a rodent problem that orkin couldn't fix and spoke with James from Brussels. He said he does so much more than orkin does and that he is better for us because he specializes in rodents. He was first supposed to come out on wed between 1 and 3.
He did call at 1130 and said he could come an hour early or it would have to be Thursday. I couldn't do 12 that day so we rescheduled for 2-4 on thurs. He called a little after 3 and said he was on his way from Virginia (about 25 min) and not yet rush hour. By 4 he hadn't arrived (shocking). So again I CALLED HIM and asked where he was. He said it's rush hour and there is a lot of traffic.
I told him that yes this is the dc area and it is 4, maybe you should have considered that. He had made it about half the way and said prolly another hour. I had to go and I wasn't sure he'd actually show anyway. I gave it one more try and he told me he'd be here between 12 and 1 on fri. Surprise surprise I AGAIN CALL HIM at 1. He says he's running late, "you don't have any plans for the next hour do you?". Are you kidding me?
I said don't bother. Not only did you waste my time three days in a row, but I had to call you each time you failed to arrive. You couldn't even be bothered to call me and tell me you were late, or most likely not gonna show up at all. Then he said, you'd probably be better to go with a company in germantown? Spoke to the woman on the phone for 30 minutes. I asked for a price quote and range she refused to give me one for the first 5 minutes and then finally stated between $100-500-this was not the issue. The issue is when we agreed on having an exterminator come out the same day and she stated that somebody will come out from 2-6pm and how I blocked off my schedule for the day and nobody came.
Actually after I stated that 2-6pm today was fine she said "aight" and gave me the dial tone. Very rude and unprofessional customer service which should not be the introduction of your company.

They are not a good company! I had an exterminator come out because I saw a mouse in my house. Before the exterminator from Brussels came, my neighbor set an old fashioned trap and caught the mouse. The evening Brussels showed up the man told me I had a mouse infestation and I freaked out. He said their package deal was $418 for a mouse clean out, and he would come back three consecutive times to continue the extermination.
He laid down some inexpensive sticky traps, I paid my money and never saw him again. I've made three additional calls to the office asking for 1) a document explaining the services I paid for, 2) when someone would be back. The customer service people are very friendly, but do not know how to answer your questions. I will be reporting them to the BBB, not a good way to do business or retain customers. By the way, my mouse infestation was NOT TRUE. No mice were caught in those traps! I'm so upset, I feel taken advantage of and ripped off. Very disappointing.

Overpriced and terrible service and ineffective solution. I spent $400 on them to find out they pretty much done nothing to eliminate the issue I had with mice. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO CHARGE YOU BEFORE YOU RECEIVE THE SERVICE. They put a few traps that a 5 years old kid can do and they will charge you $$$$$$$$. You can buy the traps and glues from a dollar store for $10 and save $390.
Do not do business with this guys. They are rude and once they charge you for the service( in advance), you practically start begging them to come to you place to do the service. And refund. you will never see your money ever again.

Not a reliable company and despite them guaranteeing solving the problem, when they can't fix it they just advise to seek the advise of another company. Seriously? The manager James is avoiding coming back to my house now that I started seeing flies again inside my house. The first time I called them was bc of a fly issue in the house that was developed from a dead rat in the crawl space and It took them 4-5 visits to fix the problem.
They sent a junior guy who wasn't experienced enough to spot the issue. They ended up bombing the crawl space and sealing some cracks that weren't fully covered in the kitchen area where we think is where the flies were sneaking into the house. Patching and bombing seemed to have fixed the problem for a few weeks. I spent over $1,000 with this company and i think is extremely unprofessional to tell me as the client, "find someone else".
What is the point of investing in them if they now refuse to come back for fly control. In my opinion, they are just not efficient nor effective in pest control. Do not waste your time using this company.

We had a really good experience with Brussell Exterminating. They were able to come out right away, identify our problem (loads of termites), and do a comprehensive treatment in a day. They ended up digging into our foundation (our landlord had never had a termite treatment) because the termites were all over the basement, and because the treatment was injected into the foundation we didn't have any harsh chemicals in our house, which was important to me since we have a toddler.
I had lots of follow up questions and they were always very responsive, and accommodated my schedule when setting up the visits. Prices felt like they were reasonable when compared to other companies.

Very very bad organization skills. They constantly mess up appointment times and refuse to call the right number. My wife and I always laugh at how bad they are organized. We have told them literally 10 times to call her and not me and they will not do it. Exterminators themselves and services are fine. Organization is laughable.

Worst experience ever. It's important to note, that none of the pest control companies guarantee their effectiveness, so really what's the point of spending that much money with no shot of it working. Brussell's makes this point very clear, and like a small percentage, we thought we'd give it a shot. We signed up for the initial service, that was supposed to last about a month.
They came out with killing agents, dangerous to all living creatures, making the place uninhabitable for basically the entirety of that month. That's not really a desired outcome of a treatment - I could think of many things that would completely destroy a living organism. Our request was for a non-invasive targeted treatment, and that failed. After paying an absurd amount (we were hopeful at first), as soon as the instant solution wore off, there was no change to the problem.
We'd called the company, to note that fact and complain of ineffective service, to which they essentially say "no refunds", and offered us more ineffective service for even more money. We'd turn down that offer, and ended up going with another company that did a much better job - Eagle Pest Control. The biggest reason for this review is to note that they've falsified the contract that I've signed, by making changes to it, without my approval.
Then they used that "amended" contract to back charge us for another service, breaking of the agreement, and have been constantly contacting us with threats of a lawsuit. Just sharing our experience. Our 4 years of telling them to stop bothering us, and responding to collection calls, and having to prove every single time that our agreement does not indicate we owe any more money. All this, for a service that did absolutely nothing, to solve the original problem that we've had before.

We almost went with this company, but didn't due to our experience with their inspection and price estimate. In our case, we were quoted a price of $1600.00 to do soil injections for our house to get rid of termites. After we called a few other companies, we found that we don't have an active termite problem, but actually have ants. The representative from the company that did the inspection didn't identify the ant problem and also did not justify his cost which was a bit high given the fact that we have a very small house (to his defense, he would have had to drill some holes in concrete to do the soil injections which adds to the cost--however, he did not itemize his services and seemed unaware of the true size of our house when I questioned his estimate).

Extremely thorough and fair with costs. My 14 unit building used them to treat a termite issue, as well as quarterly preventative extermination for mice and roaches. Some technicians are better and more thorough then others, but they keep appointments, and the administrative office is organized and communicates well to confirm appointments and for billing.
I only gave 4 stars because one tech arrived 30 minutes outside of the appointment window (miscommunication). Otherwise we have not had any issues with pests since working with Brussells.

I had a bed bug problem that unfortunately Brussell couldn't resolve. The folks at Brussell are very friendly and are more than willing to work with you. I had several appointments with them, and the exterminator has always been friendly. They do have a habit of not showing up on time, though that's par for the course in the area. The exterminator seemed knowledgeable and was willing to come out again for free when the extermination didn't take. I've had Brussell out 4 times now, and though I've followed their instructions, I'm still being bit several months later. I have to conclude at this point that their treatment is simply ineffective and I'll sadly have to go with another exterminator.

The service was able to come the same day I called. However, the exterminator asked our childcare provider, who is allergic to bees, to help him get rid of the pests. When I later told him I thought that was out of line, he argued with me. He also kept tracking bees into the house (which was what we were trying to avoid, obviously) without closing doors or taking other precautions.
I later found dead bees on our kitchen floor. Days later the bees were finally gone, but best to find real professionals who can do the job themselves, and know how to respect your home.
